The American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences (ASBBS) was founded in 1994 as an interdisciplinary professional organization. The mission of ASBBS is to provide a forum for exchange of ideas among faculty members in Business and Behavioral science disciplines. ASBBS fulfills this mission through holding annual meetings, publishing the edited Proceedings of the meetings and publishing four refereed Journals . The annual meetings of ASBBS are usually held in Las Vegas in the month of February. An Interdisciplinary OrganizationMembers of ASBBS are drawn from the academia and the business community. Faculty members and practitioners represent the following disciplines:Accounting Advertising Business Administration Computer Information System Economics Finance International Business Journalism Legal Studies Management Management Information Systems Marketing Mass Communication Political Science Public Administration Public Relations Political Science Sociology Social Work Quality and CollegialityASBBS Emphasizes quality and collegiality with a lasting impact. ASBBS screens all papers and paper proposals and publishes only the accepted articles in the Proceedings. All articles published in the refereed journals are double blind reviewed. The Journals publish theoretical and empirical papers submitted by the faculty members and practitioners. Most of the published articles in the refereed journals are drawn from papers presented in the annual conference. The format of the ASBBS presentation is semiformal. Session Chairs and paper presenters encourage open discussion during or after a paper is presented. Most often, this leads to a lively and beneficial discussion contributing to the quality of the presented paper. The semiformal atmosphere of the meetings accentuated through daily breakfasts, daily cocktails, luncheon, banquets and other social events allow ample time for networking among colleagues with similar interests. A High Growth OrganizationThe first meeting of the ASBBS in September, 1994 drew fewer than 50 participants. During the past three years, attendance at the ASBBS Annual Meeting has averaged 400. Each year, over 400 papers were presented in the conference. The Conference Proceedings are published in the ASBBS web site.Refer to Call For Paper for submitting your proposal for the 18th Annual Meeting to be held during February 24-27, 2010; or contact: Dr. Wali I.
